App Features
Compass - Navigation & Level includes the following tools:
- Digital Compass: Real-time heading display with cardinal directions (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW)
- Bubble Level: Visual level indicator showing pitch and roll angles using accelerometer
- Magnetic Field Monitor: Displays magnetic field strength in microtesla (µT) with accuracy classification
- GPS Location: Shows your current coordinates (latitude/longitude) in degrees-minutes-seconds format
- Address Lookup: Reverse geocoding to display your current address
- Altitude & Speed: Displays elevation and movement speed when GPS is enabled
- Sensor Accuracy: Real-time compass accuracy indicators

Location Data
Privacy First: Your location data is processed locally on your device and is NOT stored permanently or transmitted to our servers.
How We Use Location:
- Display your current GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude)
- Show altitude, accuracy, and speed information
- Convert coordinates to a readable address using Android's built-in Geocoder
- Location data exists only in memory during your session
- When you close the app, location data is discarded
Sensor Data
Local Processing Only: All sensor data (compass, accelerometer, magnetic field) is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Sensors Used:
- Accelerometer: For bubble level feature (pitch and roll angles)
- Magnetic Field Sensor: For compass heading and field strength measurement
- Sensor readings are used in real-time and not stored or transmitted
Information We Collect
Stored Locally (On Your Device Only):
- First launch status (for calibration dialog)
- Rate dialog preference
- Ad-free purchase status
- Theme preference (light/dark)
Collected via Third-Party Services:
- Firebase Analytics: App usage, feature interactions, device model, OS version
- Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports and error logs (production only)
- Google AdMob: Advertising identifiers and ad interaction data
Third-Party Services
Data Security
- Location and sensor data stay on your device
- We do not collect or store your GPS coordinates on our servers
- All network transfers use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS)
- Crash reporting is disabled in debug builds
No method of transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
- Location data: In memory only, discarded when app closes
- Sensor data: Real-time only, never stored
- Local preferences: Until you uninstall or clear app data
- Analytics data: ~14 months (per Google's policies)
- Crash reports: 90 days
Children's Privacy

Your Rights
- Deny location permission: GPS features won't work, but compass and level will function

Ads Policy
We display Google AdMob ads to support development. You can make an in-app purchase to remove all advertisements. We use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for consent where required by law.
